The second fastest way is to attend meetings or watch them later from the comfort of your home.

Eliot Aging in Place Committee
The Aging In Place Committee serves to make our town age-friendly for every age, especially older residents. Our projects have included installing benches in Eliot public spaces to promote getting out and being active, organizing Creative Connection groups to provide important connection and dialogue, and so much more as advocates and a voice for the concerns, interests, and needs of Eliot's older residents. We welcome your ideas and perspective as a board member. Please join us.

Agriculture & Food Security Commission
The Agriculture and Food Security Commission was created to promote local agricultural-based economic opportunities; preserve, revitalize, and sustain the Eliot agricultural industry and encourage the pursuit of agriculture as a career opportunity and lifestyle. Furthermore, to advise on issues and challenges in respect to food security and accessibility to healthy foods for all residents.

Conservation Committee
The purpose of the Commission shall be to ensure the proper utilization and protection of the natural resources, ecosystems, scenic vistas and open spaces of Eliot; to protect the watershed and wetland resources of Eliot, and to further awareness and understanding of conservation practices and policies throughout the Town and region.

Eliot Connects
Eliot Connects is founded on the belief that the welfare of each of us is inextricably bound to the welfare of all in our community. We recognize that the Eliot community will continue to flourish as we celebrate our unity in diversity – the inclusion of all and the diversity of religion, race, age, gender, ability, and political beliefs.

Planning Board
The Planning Board (PB) is a quasi-judicial board that hears and decides on land use applications and related matters submitted to the Planning Department. PB review ensures projects will be compliant with relevant state and local ordinances. The PB is also tasked with updating existing and proposing new ordinances. The Comprehensive Plan informs on the need for ordinance updates or additions. The PB enjoys autonomy in determining its agenda, objectives and managing land use matters in the town.
The Planning Board consists of five regular voting members and two alternate members. The terms are five years, staggered. PB members are appointed by the Select Board. PB public meetings are held at Eliot Town Hall the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month with July typically observed as an off month.

Board of Appeals
The Eliot Board of Appeals consists of 5 regular and 2 alternate members appointed by the Select Board. As authorized by the Municipal Code of Ordinances, the Board of Appeals hears and decides administrative appeals against actions of the Planning Board or the Code Enforcement Officer. The Board of Appeals also hears and decides requests for variances and waivers seeking the relaxation of town regulations affecting, among other standards, height, area, size of structures, and setbacks.

York River Stewardship Committee Meeting
The York River Stewardship Committee was formed in 2023 with town-appointed members from Eliot, Kittery, South Berwick, and York, following Congressional designation of the York River and its tributaries into the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. The Stewardship Committee coordinates implementation of the York River Watershed Stewardship Plan to protect water quality and preserve and enhance the many ecological, historical, and cultural resources of the watershed.
